On the afternoon of August 22nd all the Shedra/College monks and the Dratsang/prayer monks had an audience with Kenting Tai Situpa. The audience began with Kenting Tai Situpa giving certificates of Honour and gifts to the best grade students. This was a great blessing and encouragement for the monks to receive these honours directly from Kenting Tai Situpa. Afterwards Kenting Tai Situpa gave a talk on the meaning of being a monk, which is to offer oneself to the Three Jewels. Furthermore, no matter if you are a College monk or a Prayer monk when you do your study or recitation you need to always do it with awareness, read it clearly. Don't let it become merely absent minded repetition. The Karma Kagyu is a true Rime/Non Sectarian Lineage and we respect all the Lineages of Buddhism. I wish you all to remember the daily prayers and sadhanas and make the sincere wish that you take up the responsibility to uphold our Lineage and help it to continually flourish.
