Following is quoted from the teachings on Emptiness, given by the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa at New Delhi on 13th January, 2008:

Emptiness does not mean nothingness and it actually means everything. So Nothing is truly existing, solidly existing as something, therefore, everything manifests as a result of everything else and reflection of everything else and it is everything, and nothing is excluded.

Other Empty (Shentong) means: everything and every one have indestructible, incorruptible, limitless, primordial essence, which is non-dualistic. It is Empty of any dualistic entity other than non-dualistic primordially, ineffable, indescribable essence itself.

Self Empty (Rangtong) means: the Ultimate essence of everything does not have any kind of dualistic existence in itself. So it is same thing and it is limitless, it is non-dualistic, it is free of duplicity, and so empty of self.

A superficial, dualistic and unsophisticated example-This MP3 recorder is not empty of itself but MP3 empty recorder is empty of the name MP3. So now go a little bit deeper. I, who try to be enlightened am not empty of my Buddha nature, but I am empty of all of my defilements which prevent me to attain enlightenment including and beginning with the ignorance. It is the I which separates me from everything and everyone else.
