Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa has personally sent a message to the Prime Minister of Japan with condolences and prayers for the people affected by the recent earthquake and subsequent tsunami that have divested the nation. In addition, another message from General Secretary Lama Tsewang Dakpa of Palpung Muni Shasan Dharma Chakra Sangha Foundation was also sent on behalf of all Sangha of Palpung Monastic Seat and its branches with similar condolences.

On March 14, 2011 all the Venerable Tulkus, Lamas, Monks and Nuns of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat conducted special prayers following the recent massive earthquake and tsunami. These prayers included a ten-thousand butter-lamp offering and were dedicated specifically to those people who lost their lives in the disaster; to their grieving families as well as to those who survived and now face physical, emotional and financial recovery. Finally the prayers were also dedicated to the peace of this world so that no other such disasters occur and that beings here may live peacefully and harmoniously with the environment.
