Palpung Munishasan Dharmachakra Sangh holds free medical eye camp at remote areas in India every year. This year (2011), a full medical team from the Rotary Eye Hospital Maranda headed by Dr S.K. Sharma and Dr Rohit Sharma (eye surgeon) travelled with Lama Tashi Dhondup and Mr Sonam Wangdu from Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat has hold 2 free medical eye camps at Sanghla and Rekong Peo in Himachal Pradesh from 21st to 26th July.

Totally 1,118 people, 396 from Sanghla and 722 from Rekong Peo, came for check up. Some patients need lens glasses, some need medicine and some need operation. Totally 329 people get lens glasses, 181 at Sanghla and 148 at Rekong Peo. All the required operations were done at Rekong Peo district Hospital. Totally 99 people have eye operation, 33 people from Sanghla and 66 people from Rekong Peo.
