On September 26th, 2011, the Marpa Kagyu, Shangpa Kagyu empowerments, reading transmission and pith instructions for three-year retreat were completed. These transmission were given by Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa at the request of the Venerable Lama Norlha and his New York Kagyu Thubten Choeling students prior to the start of the retreat. The upcoming three-year retreat is based on the lineage of Naropa and Niguma. Following the completion of these transmissions, Lama Norlha and his students made mandala offerings with utmost and sincere devotion.
