On the 16th of January 2015, Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa captivated a very diverse audience of Mumbaikara at the Somaiya Center for Life Long Learning when he spoke on the Relevance of Buddhism in the 21st Century. Guru Vajradhara's talk covered various aspects of Buddhism embracing the three yanas, observing mindfulness and awareness in daily life and the practice of samatha and vipassana. Guru Vajradhara also spent over an hour answering questions of the avid attendees.

Usha Banerji who attended the teaching said that she was amazed at the profound simplicity with which a realized master like The Tai Situpa could explain day to day truths which if applied will make all our lives more meaningful and happy. She said 'the high of teaching remained with her the whole day'. Several of the morning’s attendees also made it a point to also participate in Guru Vajradhara’s evening teachings too.

The morning teachings were followed by lunch and a visit to Kitab Khana. Accompanying Guru Vjaradhara were Shri Samir Somaiya, President of Somaiya Vidyavihar and Dr. Supriya Rai the Centre Head.

This is the first time Guru Vajradhara the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa taught in Mumbai. The morning teachings were at the request of Aspi Mistry of Dharma Rain Centre, Somaiya Centre for Life Long Learning, Shri Dharmesh Shah and Shri. Dipnkar Khanna.

The evening teachings given by Guru Vajradhara was at the request of Shri Dhamesh Shah. The evening teachings were held at his residence of Altamount Road, Mumbai followed by dinner. There were more than 100 dharma practitioners, friends and relatives who were there to receive the nectar of pure dharma. Swami Radhakanthadas of the Gauriya Mission also graced the teachings. There was also a contingent of students from Tata Institute of Social Sciences who were present.

Guru Vajradhara’s advice was on how one needs to negotiate the three poisons with awareness and mindfulness. He spoke on the four seals that form the core of the Buddha’s teachings and the foremost need was to be a good human. Guru Vajradhara shared that we should use positive application of our ego to help others rather than to hurt or harm others. The audience was both surprised and amazed with the simplicity, ease and fluency with which he communicated these inner truths of living dharma.
