With the blessings of Guru Vajaradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa and extensive media coverage, "Mount of Excellence" the stylized documentary on the Palpung lineage and the Palpung Sherabling Monastic seat premiered at the prestigious Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on the 9th of February 2015.

The event was organized jointly by Prasiddha Foundation, Palpung Munishasan Dharma Chakra Sangh and The Habitat World.

The evening began with sacred chanting by the Grammy Award winning monks of the Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat. Following this, Smt. Prathibha Prahlad, who is the Founder and Managing Trustee of the Prasiddha Foundation provided the back ground to the event. This event also marked the Silver Jubilee celebration of the Prasiddha Foundation. She shared details of Prasiddha Foundation's long journey and its activities. Smt. Prathibha Prahlad also spoke about her long association with Guru Vajaradhara Chamgon KentingTai Situpa.

After introducing and facilitating the special guests and speakers on the dais with bouquets and copies of the DVDs of the Mount of Excellence, the Producer of the documentary, DipnkarKhanna spoke a few words. He spoke about his long association of 25 years with Palpung Sherabling Monastic seat and his motivations to undertake this sacred task of producing this documentary with the blessings of Guru Vajradhara.

In his thank you address Guru Vajaradhara reaffirmed his devotion and service to the lineage of The Tai Situpas. He thanked Prasiddha Foundation and India Habitat Centre for providing a very special maiden screening for the documentary. He also thanked the crew that was engaged in the making of this feature documentary, the film's Director Shivajee Chandrabhushan, the narrator Kabir Bedi and all other team members.

The exquisitely packed DVD of Mount of Excellence was formally released by Guru Vajaradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, Minister of State for North East Development Shri. Jitendra Singh, Professor Samdong Rinpoche, veteran lawyer and politician Shri. Ram Jethmalani, Smt. Prathibha Prahlad and the producer Shri. DipnkarKhanna.

Samdong Rinpoche shared with the audience the rich tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and the antecedents of its purest form of translation of the dharma scriptures from the original Sanskrit. He also delved into how Buddhism travelled to Tibet through the efforts of both the Indian masters like Mahapandita Kamalashila and others from Nalanda and Vikramashila and the devout Tibetan spiritual masters who undertook the arduous journey to India to gather the seed of the precious dharma from India and plant them in Tibet.

Professor Samdong Rinpoche spoke elaborately on the contribution of the Palpung Institution to Tibetan Buddhism and Buddhism in general and also on how the 9th Tai Situpa Pema Nyinjed integrated the Rimey practice of all lineages and continued this lineage and the current 12th Tai Situpa's activities on preserving and propagating the Buddha dharma. Prof. Samdong Rinpoche also encouraged the members of the audience to visit Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat to understand the scale and magnitude of these activities.

Professor Samdong provided important details of the role of the Tai Situpas in practicing, teaching and preserving the holy dharma in Tibet. He particularly singled out the 8th Tai Situpa who was adept in Sanskrit and who engaged and interacted with several Indian scholars to document Lord Buddha's doctrine in Tibet.

The Minister of State for North East Development Shri. Jitendra Singh and Shri. Ram Jethmalani also spoke on important aspects of dharma and religion and expressed their heartfelt wishes.

This was followed by the screening of the feature documentary "Mount of Excellence". The Stein Auditorium with a capacity of 430 seats was filled with some viewers spilling to the aisles. The movie was very well received by the capacity crowd.

The event was covered by both print and electronic media like the Hindustan Times, Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha channels among others.

The event was followed by a small get together at the poolside deck of the India Habitat Centre.
