Mahakala Dance

From the 27th to 28th of December of the Lunar calendar, the grand Mahakala dance was conducted after many days and nights of puja.

Red Crown Ceremony

On the 29th of December of the Lunar calendar every year, all of the Palpung Sherabling Sangha and lay devotees came to receive the blessing of the red crown ceremony and long life empowerment from Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. Many of the devotees came from the nearby Tibetan camp and from the Himalayan region and also some devotees came from overseas. The significance of receiving the blessing on this particular day is to remove obstacles of the coming year and invite all positive things in life through the blessing of Guru Vajradhara with the red crown and empowerment of the Long Life Buddha

Tibetan New Year

The 20th of February 2015 is the Tibetan New Year according to the Kalachakra calendar. Members of the Sangha conducted a smoke offering puja early in the morning and then all the Sangha and devotees gathered in the main assembly hall of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat. After Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa took his seat on the throne, Tulkus, Khenpos and lamas started to offer white khatas to Guru Vajradhara followed by the ordained Sangha members and lay devotees. Then the traditional tea ceremony was served and long life prayers were conducted.
