Historically up to the present, Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa's connection and contributions to the one most holy site, Boudhanath Stupa from various occasions are briefly introduced to the readers as below -

In the detailed history of Boudhanath Stupa on how it was constructed we can find the involvements of Lord Maitreya and Guru Padmasambhava, both are the source of incarnations of the glorious lineage of Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa.

In 1723 and 1748, the great Maha Pandit the 8th Kenting Tai Situpa Choekyi Jungne traveled to Nepal and exchanged knowledge and wisdom with many great scholars in Buddhism and Hinduism in Nepal. He discovered many sacred texts in Sanskrit language and translated into Tibetan including Manual of Stupa of Soyambhupurna. Scholars of Nepal were overwhelmed by the outstanding knowledge and wisdom of the Maha Pandit the 8th Kenting Tai Situpa Choekyi Jungne from the Tibet.

King Jaya Prakash Malla of Yambhu (reigned 1736-1768), King Ranjit Malla of Khokhum (reigned 1722-1769) and King Prithvi Narayan Shah of Gorkha (reigned 1723-1775) became devoted students and patrons of the great Maha Pandit the 8th Kenting Tai Situpa Choekyi Jungne.

In the 18th century, the grand reconstruction and consecration was done for three main stupas in Nepal including Boudhanath Stupa by the great Maha Pandit the 8th Kenting Tai Situpa Choekyi Jungne and Kathok Rigzin Tsewang Norbu .

The Nepal earthquake on April 25th, 2015 severely damaged Boudhanath Stupa, now an UNESCO site in the Kathmandu Valley, where the spire was cracked. As a result, the whole structure above the dome had to be removed.

Base on the above valuable historical connection and responsibility, the current Guru Vajradhara the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa Pema Dhonyoe Drubpa, emanation of Lord Maitreya and Guru Rinpoche decided to take the responsibility to reconstruct Boudhanath Stupa with purification and consecration so as to follow the footsteps of all his predecessors.

For this entire reconstruction project of the Holy Stupa of Boudhanath in Nepal, Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa appointed Karma Gyaltsen Nyeratsang of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat to take charge by following the lawful approach of Government of Nepal through the Boudhanath Area Development Committee.

The entire project was successfully executed without any hindrance due to the special coordination from Mr. Dhondup , who served for Tibetan Community in Nepal and also involved with Boudhanath Area Development Committee and Lama Tsultrim, General Secretary of Dilyak Monastery. Lama Gyaltsen from Karma Samten Ling Monastery took the responsibility of supervising the gold plating work. Many individuals contributed their dedication in many ways for the project as well.

The construction work began on November 3, 2015, which was the Lhabab Duchen of the year. There was a ritual placement of a new Sogshing or "Life Tree" at the crown of the dome with traditional ceremony performed by the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The traditional consecration was done according to the text written by Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye and the great Maha Pandit the 8th Kenting Tai Situpa Choekyi Jungne.

Inside of the Stupa, all the original relics, mantras, statues and holy objects were reinstalled as they were. On top of many authentic and holy Buddha relics, statues, Tripitaka and chortens were enshrined which were mainly contributed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, H.H. the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje, H.H. Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, H.H. Kyabje Jadral Rinpoche and H.H. Penor Rinpoche, Jamgon Labrang and H.E. Khamtrul Rinpoche.

During the reconstruction, many great masters visited and performed pujas including H.H. Sakya Trizin Rinpoche, H.H. Yangsi Dilgo Kyenste Rinpoche, His Eminence Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche, etc.

Exactly one year after, the renovation of the Holy Stupa was completed auspiciously. The final purification and consecration was conducted from November 18-20, 2016 by sanghas from Hinayana, Mahayana and Vajrayana of Nevari and specially from the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism led by H.H. Gadhen Trizur Ridzong Rinpoche, H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche, H.H. Dilgo Kyentse Rinpoche, H.E. Sakya Dungsey Ratna Vajra, H.E. Khenchen Yongzin Tragu Rinpoche, H.E. Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, etc.
