As a conclusion of Mahamudra Ocean of Certainty Year 2 teaching and transmission, Guru Vajradhara bestowed Maitreya Empowerment on 8 April, 2017.

Lord Maitreya, Buddha of the Future, represents loving kindness which is one of the four limitless thoughts representing bodhichita. Guru Vajradhara explained that all the four limitless thoughts are the same in essence otherwise they cannot be limitless thoughts. Relatively each limitless thought represents a special emphasis of bodhichita. For example, Loving Kindness represents “May all sentient beings be happy and develops all causes of happiness.” The reason for this empowerment is to develop the natural state of joy and happiness. According to Guru Vajradhara, the Buddha nature, our essence, ultimate shunyata, ultimate bodhichita is positive, joy and perfect. It doesn’t have any negativity of any kind whatsoever. The purpose of this empowerment is to motivate the recipients to develop all four limitless thoughts but specifically Loving Kindness.

Guru Vajradhara bestowed all five empowerments which include body, speech, mind, qualities and activities for the fortunate audience to receive full blessings from all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas through Lord Maitreya’s body, speech, mind, qualities and activities.

At the end, Guru Vajradhara reminded the audience that we all are a precious gem. He encouraged the audience to keep polishing and to become nothing less but Buddha himself so as to shine forever and inspire countless people and beings.
