On October 10, Guru Vajradhara the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa conferred the Bodhisattva vow to the entire assembly of meditators participating at the 100-day Mahamudra Transmission. Bodhicitta, which is the essence of the Bodhisattva vow, is the central pillar of the Mahayana path.

The ceremony was performed according to the tradition of the Lineage of the Profound View in the presence of the sacred Buddha Shakyamuni statue at the main temple of Palpung Sherabling monastic college. Abundant actual offerings were beautifully arranged and consecrated as an inexhaustible treasury of mentally created offerings in front of the sacred shrine that contains representations of the Buddhas’ body, speech and mind.

Following the Bodhisattva vow ceremony, Guru Vajradhara continued the Mahamudra Ocean of Certainty transmission with experiential instructions and meditations on the first of the four extraordinary Mahamudra foundations, Refuge and Bodhicitta. These four foundations make the mind into a suitable vessel for Vajrayana practice and transform every activity into the path to liberation. All the participants are practicing Refuge and prostrations with great diligence.
