October 28 marked the 36th anniversary of the Mahaparinirvana of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje. The 16th Karmapa Guru Sadhana “Opening the Door to Wisdom” complete with an elaborate ganachakra offering and extensive aspiration prayers was performed at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat.

Guru Vajradhara the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa presided over the ceremony, which recalled the life and qualities of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa. The entire assembly of Tulkus, Khenpos, Lamas, monks, nuns and lay devotees participated with sincere devotion.
