According to the vision of Guru Vajradhara the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, a free herbal medical treatment camp along with free medicine distribution was organized in Chango, a village in the Kinnaur region in North India, to fulfil the hopes and wishes of many people from the area. The medical camp was organized by Palpung Munishasan Dharmachakra Sangh.

Khenpo Pema, the head khenpo of Palpung Sherabling Monastic College, and Dr. Aepa Sonam Rinchen, the main medicine and astrology teacher at the Palpung University of Buddhist Sciences, along with members of the medical team travelled to Chango on October 22.

From October 26 to 30, the medical team examined over 700 patients and offered various treatments, which included free medicines and acupressure. Most patients were from Upper Kinnaur areas, but some came also from Lower Kinnaur as well as from Spiti. The medical camp took place at Palpung Thubten Ozer Rabgye Ling Monastery.

The medical team also offered a general introduction of various health related issues, such as nutrition and lifestyle guidelines according to traditional Tibetan medicine to all teachers, staff and students of the Chango School. They also taught them specific physical exercises.

Thus, the free herbal medical camp was able to provide extensive essential and much needed service to numerous people from this remote area, where access to traditional Tibetan medicine is very limited.
