Based on the aspiration of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Guru Vajradhara the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa transmitted the profound quintessential instructions on the stages of the training of the mind according to the paths of means and liberation of the Karma Kamtsang practice lineage, which originate from the direct oral transmissions of essential wisdom from Naropa, Maitripa, Lord Marpa and Milarepa. This cycle of empowerments and transmissions was requested and organised by the great monastic seat of Rumtek Shedrub Chokhor Ling. On December 6 2018, Guru Vajradhara conferred the final long life empowerment according to the lineage that Rechungpa received from Machik Drubpe Gyalmo to an audience of more than six thousand monastic and lay devotees that gathered at the Kagyu Monlam Pavilion. At the end, the Rumtek Monastic Seat along with the Kagyupa Monlam International Trust and several Kagyu monasteries from India, Nepal and Bhutan offered a presentation of the Five Auspicious Circumstances, as well as an elaborate offering of a mandala, representations of enlightened body, speech and mind and auspicious signs and substances to Guru Vajradhara, requesting him to live a long life and invoking the power of truth for him to remain forever as the indestructible vajra nature. These offerings represent a gesture of gratitude for graciously bestowing the stream of ripening empowerments, the key of liberating instructions and the forces of supportive reading transmissions, thus sending down the rain of sacred Dharma that makes the soil of the minds of disciples fertile for ripening the treasures of profound instructions all over the plains. With this, the cycle of Karma Kamtsang empowerments and transmissions in Bodhgaya was blissfully concluded.
