As
continuation of Palpung Institution starting the 1976, there have been
monasteries, temples, centers and study groups voluntarily established that are
dedicated to the Palpung lineage. Now that the number of monasteries and
centers alike are growing, to make certain the practitioners having proper and
robust understanding of Buddha dharma, His Holiness Guru Vajradhara the 12th
Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa feel it’s time to install and transmit a
well-designed curriculum with teachings and instructions step by step from the
three Yanas (Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana) to ensure a sound foundation of
Buddha Dharma knowledge which can lead to a meaningful and fruitful study and
practice according to the lineage.
The
new Palpung Study and Practice Curriculum, Discovering the Buddha Within
program consists of three levels:
Level 1: Inner Peace
Level 2: Awakened Heart
Level 3: Original Purity
The
Guru Vajradhara might not be able to frequently visit every place all the time
to carry out the teaching programs. Thus, he has appointed His Eminence Yongey
Mingyur Rinpoche to lead the teaching effort and to carry out his designed
curriculum accordingly with the assistance of other Rinpoches and Senior
Khenpos from Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat whom he appointed. His Eminence
Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche will transmit three teaching seminars per year, one in
each of Europe, America, and Asia. Rinpoches such as His Eminence Chungpo
Gyalton Rinpoche and in particular the appointed Khenpos will conduct the
teachings locally every year.
For a smooth
operation of the teaching programs based on Guru Vajradhara’s designed
curriculum, a designated organization under the supervision of Palpung
Sherabling Monastic Seat, Palpung Dharma Chakra Association, is established. The new organization will handle the
administration and execution for these teaching programs. With Guru Vajradhara blessings, may this
arrangement benefit and strengthen the knowledge and wisdom of dharma for
everyone who is directly or indirectly connected with Palpung.
