From February 21, 2021, the 9th day of the Month of Miracles during which Buddha Shakyamuni manifested miracles in order to tame the six tirthika teachers, the entire monastic community of Palpung Sherabling held a seven-day Monlam, a prayer festival for the thriving of the Dharma of all traditions, for the long life and the flourishing of enlightened activities of its lineage holders, and for the well-being of all living beings in general, especially of the living and deceased connected to our monastic seat. Offerings of over 200,000 butter lamps and recitations of the King of Prayers and other aspirations were dedicated for the pacification of sicknesses, wars, famines, and other adversities of the present degenerate time and for the establishment of boundless joy and prosperity.
On February 27, the parinirvana anniversary of the great translator Marpa, the lamas who had completed the three-year retreat recalled the life examples of Kagyu masters of the past by chanting the Ocean of Kagyu Dohas, a collection of spontaneous spiritual songs of realization sung by the Kagyu siddhas.
