On July 13, 2021, Guru Vajradhara H.H. the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa appointed twelve khenpos and acharyas from the monastic college as specialized teachers for sutra subjects like the five major treatises on madhyamaka, prajnaparamita, vinaya, abhidharma, and pramana, as well as for several tantric treatises. This ceremony, which represented the realization of Guru Vajradhara’s past aspirations, resolutions, and wishes, was held at Palpung Sherabling Monastic College.

These khenpos and acharyas will now dedicate five years to studying, contemplating, analyzing, and researching their individual subjects by consulting the Buddha’s words and the commentaries composed by his most learned followers, along with authentic treatises written by Indian and Tibetan scholars of all Buddhist schools. Through further research and discussions with top experts on the subjects, they will also revise the notes that they take during their studies, and based on that they will then devise new courses for the college, design the year-by-year curriculum, and outline the pedagogical process. In this way, great progress will be made with respect to the flourishing of theoretical and practical aspects of the Buddha’s teachings.
