Not only do sports provide physical well-being, facilitate intellectual learning, and represent an important element of social harmony, but they also hone a person’s natural talents, encourage physical and mental growth, and improve a person’s character and behavior. Therefore, following the vision and guidance of Guru Vajradhara H.H. the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, football and basketball playgrounds were built to support the well-being of Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat’s monastic community. Students of the Monastic Primary School dedicate 45 minutes each day to playing sports, while students of other departments do that during weekly holidays. It is also customary that during the new year celebrations and summer holidays the students form sports teams and compete in tournaments. Following this tradition, sports teams from various departments of the monastic seat joyfully participated in this year’s football and cricket summer sports tournaments for five days from September 7 to 11, 2021.
