On September 11, 2021, Kyabje Gyalton Rinpoche from Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat arrived at Palpung Ozer Rabgye Ling in Chango, a village in the north Indian Himalayan region of Kinnaur, where he was welcomed with a reception ceremony by local monastic and lay devotees, along with representatives of local Dharma organizations. After an offering of a mandala and the three representations, all the devotees lined up to receive Rinpoche’s blessings.
This visit was requested by the Kinnauri people and organized by Palpung Tharlam Centre and Palpung Buddhist Study and Practice Centre, two Dharma organisations that are based in Chango.
Over the following three days, Rinpoche presided over the 18th one hundred million mani mantra accumulation practice at Palpung Ozer Rabgye Ling, during which he bestowed teachings and a long-life empowerment to the local community, along with performing a Jangchok inscription ritual for the deceased.
On September 15, Rinpoche visited Khargo Monastery in the morning and Lang Monastery and Palpung Sorig Tsoje Khang herbal clinic in the afternoon, blessing all of these through consecration ceremonies.
On the following day, at the request of Palpung Drophen Ling Centre in Nako, Rinpoche bestowed a long-life empowerment and a teaching to the local community at Nako village, and on the day after that, he visited the villages of Tashi Gang, Pooh, and Malling, where he fulfilled the sincere hopes of local devotees.
