Based on his own vision and Kathok Rigzin Tsewang Norbu's prophecy, the supreme mahapandita Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Chökyi Jungne, who was a sun that illuminated the Buddha's teachings of all traditions, a holder of the jewel treasury of the Tibetan civilization, and a great champion of conventional sciences, established the Great Glorious Vajrakilaya Temple at Palpung Thubten Chökhor Ling and instituted the practice of the Vajrakilaya drubchen ritual, which has been conducted on special occasions since that time. Following the example of past masters, this tradition of practicing the Vajrakilaya drubchen ritual has now been re-established at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat.

From October 26, 2021, Guru Vajradhara H.H. the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa presided over a twelve-day drubchen ritual based on the mandala of Kilaya Activity deities of the great glorious Vajrakilaya, the most profound and supreme yidam. This great accomplishment practice was conducted by Chungpo Gyalton Rinpoche and the monastic seat's tulkus, lamas, khenpos, and acharyas along with its entire monastic community, at the main shrine hall of Palpung Sherabling Monastic College.

They performed this ritual according to the gurus' pith instructions, combined with the ritual tradition of the lineage and complete with all of its elements, such as the preliminary land consecration, establishing outer and inner boundaries, and drawing the mandala and arranging its ornaments, as well as visualization, meditation, and recitation practices of the actual sadhana, the fire puja to accomplish the four activities, the empowerment, the ritual for receiving the siddhis, the butter lamp prayer, one hundred thousand ganachakra feasts, the smoke offering ritual, and the concluding offerings and praises.
