As a conclusion to this year's classes at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat's University of Buddhist Sciences, on December 4, 2021 a commemoration of the omniscient Situ Panchen's life and activities was held at the Golden Stupa Temple. In the presence of the monastic college's head khenpo Thubten Karma, the directors of other departments,and the university's teachers, the medicine and astrology students presented eloquent discourses on key points of Tibetan grammar and poetics based on Situ Panchen's Beautiful String of Pearls: The Great Commentary on "The Thirty Verses" and "The Guide to Signs," which represents the basis of the entire Tibetan grammar, along with other major and minor grammatical treatises, the history of the Tibetan science of poetics, and the ornaments of meaning from The Mirror of Poetics. They also engaged in comparative discussions and question and answer sessions. The event was concluded with a teaching by the monastic college's head khenpo.
