Paljor Tsering entered the Dharma path at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat around 1983, where he studied reading, writing, and ritual practices, and spent approximately five years studying sacred scriptures at the monastic college. In 1999, he was appointed as an attendant to Guru Vajradhara His Holiness Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. For twenty-six years, he served as personal attendant and chamberlain, remaining inseparably at Guru Vajradhara's side and fulfilling his responsibilities diligently, with pure faith and unwavering devotion.
At the beginning of 2025, he became gravely ill with a severe condition. Despite undergoing surgery and medical treatment at Apollo Hospital in Delhi, a respected medical institution, and despite showing some initial improvement, his condition ultimately did not respond to the various treatments administered over more than two months of hospitalization. He passed away on December 7.
Paljor Tsering possessed a pure and sincere dedication to the Dharma. In particular, due to his unshakable faith and devotion to Guru Vajradhara, his sole refuge for all lifetimes, Guru Vajradhara visited him numerous times in the hospital to bestow empowerments and perform prayers. On December 6, Guru Vajradhara bestowed the Vajrasattva empowerment, together with prayers and guidance. Around midnight, Guru Vajradhara visited him again and recited the "Mahamudra Prayer" and "Maitreya's Aspiration." During these prayers, Paljor Tsering raised his right hand in prayer and repeated the aspirations accordingly, listening attentively to all the prayers and pointing-out instructions bestowed by Guru Vajradhara, responding, "So it is," to each one. At approximately 1:00 a.m., without any sign of pain or distress, he passed away peacefully.
Early the next morning, Guru Vajradhara performed the transference of consciousness (phowa) and extensive prayers. His body was then brought to Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat, where all preliminary astrological assessments and rituals were completed in full accordance with tradition. On December 11, with the monastic seat's tulkus and vajra master presiding, the monastic community performed the rituals of Akshobhya and Vajrasattva. The cremation took place in the presence of his mother, sister, and family members and the forty-nine-day memorial rituals are currently being observed.
