At the monastic seat's invitation, the Hon'ble Ecclesiastical Minister of the State of Sikkim, Shri Sonam Lama, attended the annual Grand Gutor Mahakala Sacred Dance Ceremony as a special guest. On February 16, 2026, the Minister and his entourage made a visit to Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat, where they were warmly received by the monastery's administration and monastic community.
In the audience hall, the Minister was granted an audience with Guru Vajradhara His Holiness the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. On this occasion, traditional tea and sweet rice were offered, and they engaged in a meaningful conversation.
Thereafter, Guru Vajradhara and the Minister proceeded to the dance viewing gallery to witness the sacred vajra dances of the Grand Gutor Mahakala Ceremony. The Minister offered ceremonial scarves to the three principal sacred representations of Mahakala, Mahakali, and Dorje Legpa, as well as to their retinue of Dharma protectors, accompanied by offerings and prayers.
The Minister also paid homage to the outer and inner sacred representations of the Buddha's body, speech, and mind throughout the monastery, and toured the premises.
