Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa from a young age had a great vision on the topic "ACTIVE PEACE: ONE WORLD – ONE HUMANITY". For this reason since the 1980's he put in a lot of effort and resources to share his vision and highlight its importance. He did this by bringing together a host of religious leaders, environmentalists, social and economic luminaries, artists, doctors, scientists and members of the general public with the intention to influence the world in various positive and wholesome ways.

To actualize the vision and goal of "ONE WORLD – ONE HUMANITY' merely a state of passive peace or absence of war is not sufficient since there can still exist inequities, hate and suffering for living beings.

Therefore Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa continued with his focused and sustained efforts for many years to establish this idea and plant his vision of ACTIVE PEACE and get human beings who have made significant contributions to humanity such as religious leaders, social and political leaders, committed environmentalists, global business and economic leaders, Noble Laureates in the ACTIVE PEACE fold.

As per Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa's vision "we are not looking at yesterday's problems but at tomorrow's solutions – perhaps anticipating the next hundred years". For him ACTIVE PEACE ensures how to take action ahead of time. For example "a business should be profitable but not at the cost of a collapse of the environment in the century ahead" he reiterates.

In 1989, Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa undertook a special initiative to conduct the "One World Pilgrimage of Active Peace" around the world. It started off in Bodhgaya, India, the holiest place of Buddhism where it has been prophesized that a thousand Buddhas will manifest in this eon of our planet's life cycle. The pilgrimage continued from here to cover nine countries including Vatican City, Italy, USA, UK.

Thousands of people participated in the Pilgrimage for Active Peace which also consisted of H.H. The Dalai Lama, H.H. Pope John Paul II, H.H. Sankaracharya, heads of other religions and several Noble Laureates from various fields.

During the Pilgrimage for Active Peace, in 1989, more than a few auspicious signs took place globally and were witnessed by all of us. For example H.H. The Dalai Lama won the Noble Peace Prize and the Berlin Wall was brought down.

Over the years Guru Vajradhara Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa continues to champion his vision and mission of ACTIVE PEACE. He has been organizing conferences and symposiums and also actively participates in conferences organized by others on peace, culture, religion, art and humanitarian causes which are dedicated to One World for Humanity and Active Peace!
