Due to high competitiveness in every aspect of modern society, many individuals fall into depression and disillusionment. To help people face life's challenges and especially to assist Dharma centers and students directly related to Palpung Monastic Seat in their understanding and practice of Buddhism, a program of study and practice of the Buddha's teachings based on the progression of the tree yanas known as "Discovering the Buddha Within" was designed under the guidance of Guru Vajradhara His Holiness the 12thChamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. The first year of this transmission titled "Inner Peace," requested and organized by Palpung Dharma Chakra and Palpung Institute of Buddhist Studies, was taught over the period of four days from November 18 to 21, 2022, by His Eminence Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and four monastic seat's senior tulkus and khenpos at Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat's Institute of Buddhist Studies to an international audience of students from all over the world. This year's program included topics such as shamatha meditation with the support of breathing and mental recitation, the practices of the four foundations of awareness based on their distinctive as well as general characteristics, the four noble truths, and taking refuge. All these were taught in a clear and comprehensible manner by first introducing their various aspects, such as view, meditation, and conduct, supporting that with stories and examples, clarifying the meaning by answering questions, holding discussions, and sharing experiences, and deepening the understanding through guided meditations.
