From November 15 to 19 2019, His Eminence Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche continued with the transmission of the Words of My Perfect Teacher. Dharma students travelled from all corners of the world to Palpung Sherabling Monastic Seat to attend this transmission that was requested and organized by the Palpung Institute of Buddhist Studies. The 7th Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche is a great emanated tertön, who was predicted in an unmistaken vajra prophecy by the second Buddha of our time, the great Lotus-Born Guru Rinpoche from Uddiyana. This year he bestowed the fourth part of the five-year transmission on this sacred commentary on the preliminary practices of the Dzogpa Chenpo Longchen Nyingthig, which is a cycle of pith instructions on the inner most view of the great secret Vajrayana and a most profound secret teaching. Through essential instructions in his own extraordinary teaching style, Rinpoche taught about the Mahayana path and the two bodhicittas of aspiration and application, emphasising the gradual practices of application bodhicitta in terms of the six paramitas. He clearly explained the essence, classifications, functions and benefits of generosity and other five paramitas, as well as how to practice them. He also taught how to practice awareness of different parts of our body as well as of pleasant and unpleasant feelings; how to deal with aversion and attachment when practicing the shamatha meditation on the breath and how to apply the practice with strong emotions. Then he talked about the essence of meditation, how to cultivate its causes and conditions, as well as about its duration and number of sessions. He also explained the body posture and introduced simple meditation instructions for settling the mind. He emphasised that according to both the general Buddhist teachings and the specific Vajrayana tradition, the ground, path and fruition, as well as the view, meditation and action have to be practiced inseparably. Rinpoche also gave guidance and instructions on the purification practice of Vajrasattva, as well as the merit accumulation practice of the Mandala offering. He clarified the crucial points of each section of the text with secret oral instructions, allocated time for discussions among the students on some complicated subjects, and also answered the students' questions related to the teaching topics. Thus, Rinpoche fulfilled the hopes of the students in accordance with the Dharma.
