On October 6, His Eminence Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche travelled from Rampur through various villages in lower Kinnaur, where he gave Dharma lectures to large gatherings of local devotees. These events were requested by the general public of the North Indian regions of Kinnaur and Spiti and organised by the Palpung Tharlam Chötsok and Palpung Nangten Thösam Chötsok, local organisations of Chango villagers. On October 8, Rinpoche was welcomed at the Palpung Yeshe Rabgye Ling Monastery in Chango with an elaborate reception ceremony by local Kinnauri monastic and lay devotees. A mandala offering was made, along with representations of enlightened body, speech and mind by village leaders and representatives of various Dharma organisations. This was followed by a traditional tea and sweet rice offering, after which all the devotees lined up to receive Rinpoche's blessings. On the following day, Rinpoche led the 16th one hundred million Chenrezig mantra accumulation practice, which is performed annually at Palpung Yeshe Rabgye Ling, and gave instructions on the meditation of Chenrezig. Rinpoche conferred the Chenrezig empowerment at the Chango Dharma teaching ground on the following day, and after this, a cultural performance of traditional songs and dances of Kinnaur and Spiti took place. On the morning of October 11, Rinpoche bestowed the Chöd empowerment at the Tashi Thongyang Monastery and in the afternoon, he consecrated the Palpung Sorig Tsoje Khang herbal clinic. On the following morning, Rinpoche gave Shamatha meditation instructions to the local devotees and in the afternoon, devotees from Kinnaur and Spiti, along with students of the Rangrig School, offered a Dharma feast of melodious songs and dances to express their gratitude. This was an auspicious conclusion to the four days of sacred events that enabled a Dharma connection with Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, through which the seed of liberation was sown in the minds of a great number of sentient beings.
