Palpung Sherabling Monastic College is a hub of the well-established Dharma activities of listening, reflection and meditation and the source of a great number of brilliant scholars proficient in teaching, debating and composition. On November 18 and 19, the Monastic College annual examination was conducted under the supervision of its Khenpos, Acharyas, teachers and staff. Students of all levels, from those in the beginners' class up to those in the twelfth-year class, sat for their respective written and oral exams on root texts, commentaries and difficult points of several major subjects of the sutras and tantras. The exams included the basic subjects of epistemology, reasoning and collected topics of logic; the scriptures of the Thirty Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva and the Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life; the major texts on madhyamika, prajnaparamita, vinaya and abhidharma; the sacred scriptures of the Profound Inner Meaning, the Tantra of the Two Segments and the Treatise of the Sublime Continuum; as well as the Compendium of Valid Cognition and its commentary.
