Except Kenting Tai Situpa, the founder of Palpung monastery, tulkus including Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, Palpung Khyentse Rinpoche, Ongen Rinpoche, Kalu Rinpoche and Thutop Rinpoche all had their first incarnation with their own titles in Palpung monastery. At present, only Palpung Khyentse Rinpoch and Ongen Rinpoche are residing in Palpung Monastery. There are another six tulkus studying in the monastic college, five masters in the retreat centers and four Khenpos in the monastic college.
